The Land Nod
The setting is impressive: a large, high-ceilinged room with parquet floor, with a monumental painting of the crucifixion of Christ on one of the walls. The stage is a recreation of the Rubens room in the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp. The attempt by six brilliant performers to remove the huge painting which, as it turns out, does not fit through the door, becomes a magnificent human tragedy, full of slapstick and dance interludes.
