Info for Professionals

The Zürcher Theater Spekakel, founded in 1980, is one of the most prominent European festivals for the contemporary performing arts. The festival lasts 18 days and takes place on the Landiwiese. The park-like terrain on the shores of Lake Zurich hosts up to ten, specially built venues of different sizes.

The programme comprises 40 to 50 companies or single artists from all over the world whose works convince by thematic relevance, formal originality, innovative character and artistic ambition. Part of the budget is reserved for festival-owned productions or co-productions.

Over 150'000 visitors enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of the festival each year. Open-air performances, freely accessible installations and a curated street art programme as well as appealing restaurants and bars attract cultural aficionados and night owls from far beyond the borders of Zurich.
