What happens to me when I wear a veil? Do I become someone else? How am I perceived by others? These two dancers explore such questions in their duet which was inspired by the photographer Boushra Almutawakel’s series of pictures of veiled women. Her portraits show different aspects of veiling: from the confident expression of a religious identity to the extinction of a woman as an individual — a broad spectrum which «La même» successfully reflects.
