It is a pleasure to watch Jeannot Kumbonyeki. In 2014, the virtuosic dancer amazed the festival audience with his street-dance inspired, acrobatic movement language in Ula Sickle’s «Kinshasa Electric». Now, in his first solo, he draws a wonderfully witty parallel between the situation of an artist in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and that of a passenger who spends hours each day in a totally overcrowded, clapped-out minibus in Kinshasa, never knowing when or if he will arrive anywhere.
